Lizzy Stageman Art as seen on The Block
One conversation led to one email. That email carried my art onto The Block, and the story continued for five years.
In 2021, Ronnie and Georgia commissioned two original artworks for Hallway Week. What followed changed the direction of my life.
Over the years that came next, Finding My Place, On The Ranges and works from the Sweet Rain collection found their way into new rooms and new homes.
This collection brings those artworks and memories together in one place, including the new limited editions of Sweet Rain and Children, the two paintings that started it all.

Finding My Place reflects Lizzy’s journey as a modern contemporary Aboriginal artist.
The painting symbolises a woman who has finally found her place. Lizzy feels proud of where she has come from and where she continues to go.
She has taken the journey, conquered the mountains and found her place.
Ankur and Sharon featured a framed Finding My Place print in their bathroom on The Block in 2022. During the room reveal, the judges recognised Lizzy’s artwork tucked into the corner of the space.

Marrunga Yubaa means Sweet Rain.
Spring follows the gentle journey of rain from the clouds down onto Country. Delicate dots gather beneath each block of colour, reflecting individual raindrops as they soften the earth and bring life back to the landscape.
Lizzy explored bright, warm and gentle colours throughout the artwork, with subtle greens, blues and earthen tones drawn from the changing Australian landscape.
Spring marks a season of new beginnings. Fresh buds bloom, animals awaken and the earth begins to move again after the dry cold of winter. Sun showers and rainbows stretch across the sky, while softer droplets fill rivers and dams and give life to seeds that rested through the frost.
Through this artwork, Lizzy gives thanks to rain and the life it carries. The story reminds us that no season lasts forever. Change will come, the rain will return and colour can emerge again after difficult times.
Britt and Taz selected Marrunga Yubaa, Spring for their main bedroom and walk-in wardrobe on The Block in 2025, bringing the artwork’s warmth and gentle sense of renewal into their Daylesford home.

Galingabangbur means Children.
Lizzy created the original artwork as one of two large commissions for Ronnie and Georgia’s hallway on The Block. She completed the paintings within five days, with her family helping her frame, scan and deliver both works to Melbourne.
Three strong forms represent Lizzy’s three children. Their upright shapes reflect strength and unity, while their rounded lines carry softness, care and connection.
The surrounding landscape reflects the many ways a mother supports and protects her children. The mountains represent the mountains she would move. The water reflects the seas she would help them cross. Fire acknowledges the difficult paths she would walk beside them.
Thousands of dots move through the artwork like footsteps, representing the journey Lizzy has taken and will continue to take alongside her children.
Five years after the original appeared on The Block, Lizzy has released Children Part One directly through her own website for the first time, in a 60 × 90 cm edition limited to 25.

Lizzy created the original artwork in 2021 after Ronnie and Georgia commissioned two large paintings for Hallway Week on The Block. She completed both artworks within five days before travelling to Melbourne to deliver them in person.
Sweet Rain follows the movement of rain from the clouds down onto Country. Deep blues shift into softer greens, creams and subtle touches of warmth, reflecting the colours of the Australian landscape and the life that rain carries with it.
The artwork later returned to The Block in 2024, when Kristian and Mimi selected it for their winning main bedroom. Pieces from the wider Sweet Rain collection appeared again in Britt and Taz’s winning room in 2025.
Five years after its first appearance on The Block, Lizzy has released Sweet Rain directly through her own website for the first time, in a 60 × 90 cm edition limited to 25.

The artworks that started it all
Five years after their first reveal, Sweet Rain and Children return in a 60 × 90 cm format.
25 editions of both works are now available on my website for the first time.
