I pay my respects to Elders past, present, and emerging and acknowledge the traditional owners of this land on which I was born and raised.

The Sweet Rain series is designed to ignite imagination and celebrate life. It signifies a raindrop’s journey from the clouds to the earth and its importance to the land and our lives. The ancient traditional Aboriginal symbol of rain is portrayed through my own contemporary artistic lens. I have designed the symbol to have a cup of delicate dots that surround just the bottom of each coloured stroke, in a cascading effect. The colour of each drop signifies a part of my life story and is applied in layers of fine art strokes. The colours portray a visual memory of the beautiful Australian landscapes through my eyes

My ever-evolving exploration of colour comes with my fascination of the many colours in rain. In my Dancing In The Rain series, I hope to take you on a journey with me, exploring colours through my eyes, giving you a feeling of freedom as the rain drops burst on the canvas in a celebration of colour.

When mixing and blending colour into a multitude of shades there is so much choice. Life is about choices and your choice can ultimately change the path you are meant to take. When colours are mixed, they change. They are no longer what they were in the beginning, they take a new path, just like we sometimes need to in life.

The colours blending on the canvas represent the celebration of all things I see and am grateful for in this world. The delicate cups of raindrops are lined with gold dots to emphasise and celebrate the importance of rain, which to many is liquid gold.

I choose to let the rain wash away all the pain of yesterday, and I dance in the rain today, to celebrate my tomorrow. I hope you can too.
