Buuja Buuja – granddaughter holds a story of love that surrounds a child from the very beginning.
This artwork grew from a letter written to a granddaughter, welcoming her into the world and wrapping her in the strength of family, culture, and connection.
At the centre of the piece, a campsite rests within an unbroken circle.
That circle carries deep meaning in Aboriginal culture. It represents belonging, safety, and the bond that holds families together across time, distance, and spirit.
Within the artwork, four butterflies appear.
Each one represents a grandparent, watching over, guiding gently, and reminding us that love never leaves.
This piece speaks to new life, to protection, and to the quiet promise that no matter where we walk, we never walk alone.
We created this limited release to honour that story and to share a piece of that love with others who hold family close to their hearts.
